Coming from a dysfunctional home and a casualty of the ‘flower power’ hippie movement, drug addict ‘Magic Marge’ experienced a dramatic transformation when she was supernaturally confronted with the choice ‘Life or Death’ in 1969 and decided to choose Life then becoming part of the Jesus Movement.
She went through years of growth and healing in (YWAM) YOUTH WITH A MISSION and later launched a non profit organization and safe house to assist woman in prostitution, drugs and sex trafficking. For the past number of years she has been committed to ‘passing on the baton’ through training others.
This book is the intriguing story of Marge’s journey and growing relationship with God, and her subsequent work among hippies, prostitutes, drug addicts, and sex trafficking victims both in the South Africa cities of Johannesburg in Hillbrow and Cape Town and in the Red Light District in Amsterdam with YWAM and how she became part of the campaign against legalised prostitution.
This book is a major eye-opener to the dark, generally unknown world of organised crime in drugs and sex. Watch and wonder at the stories of how God’s light and love penetrated and transformed the lives of people from extreme depth and darkness.
Wonder at the stories of how God’s light and love penetrated and transformed the lives of people from extreme darkness into freedom. Included is an article she wrote on why prostitution should not be legalized
More about the book This book is not just about my own journey, although that is a large part of the story, but it's also about helping women to come out of prostitution and sex trafficking. The close of the book includes a document on why prostitution should not be legalized or decriminalized and provides useful information from many experts in this field. For those who wish to know how to reach out and assist these women I believe this book is very informative. I write in order to 'pass on the baton' and train others in the work I have done for many years. There is such a need for workers to be involved in this ministry as more and more pimps and crime syndicates take advantage of women and children and sell them into sexual slavery.
A call for care givers and abolitionists! There is first a call to those who will rescue the victims of prostitution and sex trafficking as care givers. We also need abolitionists like William Wilberforce who stood valiantly against slavery during the time of the Trans Atlantic slave trade and helped get it abolished. The Slavery Abolition Act was passed in 1833 in the Parliament of the United Kingdom abolishing slavery throughout the British Empire. Although slavery is no longer legal it still exists and Christians should get involved in fighting this cruel scourge which is expanding by the day with more than 27 million in bondage worldwide. Now with ISIS and radical Muslims groups abducting women and young girls and selling them into slavery we must pray even more passionately and fervently against this cruel trade.
